Nigeria receives £70m looted fund from UK

=====Vice president Yemi Osinbajo says the Federal Government is committing the sum of 500 billion naira to wealth creation and poverty alleviation through the National Social Investment Programmes initiative, the largest of its kind in the history of the country.
Osinbajo said the N500 billion covered conditional cash transfer to one million of the poorest in the country and government was working with the World Bank for special coverage, to determine the one million beneficiaries.
====The African Union Commission has urged stakeholders to train officials of member State Agencies and Academic Institutions on the Skills for developing, implementing and monitoring of Green Climate Fund (GCF) Proposals
Prof. Sarah Agbor, the Commissioner, Department of Human Resources, Science and Technology, African Union Commission, made the appeal at a Capacity Building workshop for All Member States on the process involved in accessing the fund.
Agbor said the Green Climate Fund aimed to promote a paradigm shift towards low emission and climate resilient pathways in developing countries to limit or reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and to adapt to the impact of climate change.

=====The United Kingdom says it has repatriated to Nigeria, 70 million pounds recovered from a Nigerian convict who was found guilty of fraud by an Italian court.
British High Commissioner Paul Arkwright, ahead of Prime minister, Theresa May’s visit to the country, said more funds would be repatriated from the UK to Nigeria.
======Ahead of the 2019 general elections, Israel has urged Nigerians to eschew violence to ensure sustainable peace and progress in the country.
The Deputy Head of Mission, Mr Nadav Goren, said that the call for resilience against violence during electoral process became imperative to foster peaceful coexistence across the country.
======North Korean officials have warned the U.S. that the denuclearisation talks were “again at stake and may fall apart”, as US was not ready to meet his country’s expectations by signing a peace treaty.
In a letter, which was delivered directly to U.S Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un said his government felt that the process could not move forward.
