UPDATE: IGP MOURNS DEATH OF AIG DONALD AWUNAH
The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, expresses his condolences on the death of AIG Donald Awunah, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 16, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, and former spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force, who died in the early hours of Monday, May 23, 2022, at Garki Hospital in Abuja, following a brief illness.
The IGP, speaking about the late Awunah’s achievements as a veteran, said in a statement that the police regretted announcing the communicator’s death.
“We grieve to announce the demise of an eminent communicator, ardent officer, and member of the National Institute, AIG Awunah, who hailed from Benue State, on behalf of the Force Management team and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force,” he added.
