After netting against Rivers United on MatchDay 32, Manu Garba of Wikki Tourist said he is looking forward to scoring more goals for the Bauchi side before the season ends.

His strike in the fourteenth minute ensured the home team ran away with the three points.

The former VAT Wonder Goal winner has managed only four goals with six assist this term, a performance he said he is disappointed with especially being a striker who’s major role is to score.

”I have not been on the score sheet for some time but today’s goal gave me hope that I will score more goals before the season ends.

”For now I have found the back of the net four times and I feel very disappointed as a number nine especially when wingers score more goals – honestly I feel worried.

‘But I hope before the league rounds up I will get some couple of goals to round the season in grand style’, Garba told www.npfl.ng

In the game played on Sunday in Bauchi, Wikki Tourist delivered a masterclass in defending. There was however drama and altercations which saw the game stopped for over ten minutes in the second half after coach Stanley Eguma ordered his players to refuse to play citing alleged deliberate delay from ball boys and ‘tensed atmosphere’

The visitors were dealt a big blow when goalkeeper Victor Sochima picked a knock late in the first half while trying to make a save and was replaced by reserve goalkeeper Darlington Ovunda.

Garba who also did not finish the first half due to injury had word of praises to the home fans saying ‘they keep cheering us even when we are not playing well, it energized and  boosted our morale’

Wikki’s next game is away to Kano Pillars.
