RONALDO TURNS DOWN €275m OFFER TO JOIN SAUDI ARABIAN CLUB
According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo is planning to turn down a very lucrative offer to leave Manchester United for Saudi Arabia.
Unnamed Saudi Arabian club have made a €30 million offer to Ronaldo to lure him away from Manchester United while also giving Portugal’s captain the chance to become the highest-paid player in the world by offering him €275 million in wages over the course of the next two seasons.
Ronaldo, 37, has handed in a transfer request despite having a contract with United until June of next year with an option to extend for an additional year.
The star forward wants to play in the Champions League next season and compete for major trophies in a top league at this point in his career.
Ronaldo has been informed by United that he is not up for transfer this summer. The 37-year-old was given permission to put off attending United’s preseason tour of Australia and Thailand due to family concerns.
Ronaldo is a part of Erik ten Hag’s plans for United’s forthcoming campaign, the new manager of the club revealed this week, adding that “nothing has changed” about the condition of the attacker.
According to sources, Chelsea has decided against a bid for Ronaldo after signing England striker Raheem Sterling from Manchester City this week.
