Teaching and non-teaching staff, about 3,700 of the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission are to sit for the 2022 promotion examination in the state, this was a statement by the commission’s press secretary, Olajide Abolarin.

According to the statement, the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved the conduct of promotion examinations for all categories of teaching and non-teaching staff of TESCOM for 2022.

“The promotion examinations, including oral and written tests, will involve 3,700 TESCOM staff who were due for the next cadre as part of Governor AbdulRazaq administration’s commitment to improving the quality of education in the state.”

Meanwhile, the statement also states that the TESCOM chairman, Bello Tauheed-Abubakar, commended the governor for his commitment to workers’ welfare in the state, especially his investment in the education sector.

The chairman said the examination and interview schedule would be released in due course.

Abubakar, however, urged TESCOM staff to reciprocate the gesture by being more committed to their duties and joining hands with the administration to make its education policies a success.

AbdulRazaq’s administration had last year cash-backed promotion debts for teachers dating back to 2015, 2016, and 2017, and also approved the promotion of 7,493 TESCOM staff due for 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 promotions respectively, the statement said.
