LAGOS CITY MARATHON : LASTMA TO COLLABORATE WITH LAGOS SPORTS COMMISSION

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has promised to collaborate with the Lagos State Sport Commission (L.S.S.C.) towards the successful hosting of the 2024 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon scheduled for 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024.

The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Bakare-Oki Olalekan disclosed this today during a courtesy visitation to Oshodi by top management of the Lagos State Sport Commission (L.S.S.C.).

Mr. Bakare-Oki Olalekan, who was represented by the Director of Logistics and Engineering, Mr. Oshodi Jubril disclosed further that the agency will always key into government projects and give unwavering support towards moving the state forward in line with the ‘Themes+’ agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Bakare-Oki assured officials of the Lagos State Sport Commission (LSSC) that the agency would always provide the necessary support to ensure the free flow of both human and vehicle movements during the 2024 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.

However, he called on the motoring public to continue obeying traffic rules and regulations before, during, and after the sporting events in Lagos.

Earlier in his speech, the Director General of the Lagos State Sport Commission (L.S.S.C.), Mr. Gafaar Oluwatoyin Bolowotan stated that the courtesy visitation was to intimate LASTMA on the upcoming Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.

He confirmed that both the 42-kilometer and 10-kilometer Access Bank Lagos City Marathon would be held simultaneously at different locations within Lagos.

Present at the meeting were the top management team of Lastma, including the Director of Human Resources and Adimistration, Mr. Oshinowo Stephen Lanre.
