KIDNAP: EKITI STATE GOVT CONFIRMS ABDUCTION OF TEACHERS, PUPILS AND DRIVER, PROMISES SWIFT RESCUE
The Ekiti State Government has acknowledged that students, instructors, and a driver were abducted in the Emure-Ekiti region of the state, but it has also promised to see to it that the victims are freed.
While they were returning from Eporo-Ekiti on Monday night, six students, three teachers, and their bus driver were kidnapped by gunmen from a private school.
However, the Ekiti State Government urged people to be hopeful as security has been increased to save them, hours after the event.
“The Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has urged the citizens of the state not to despair over Monday’s kidnapping of some school pupils and their teachers in Emure-Ekiti, assuring that efforts are on to get the children and their teachers rescued,” the Tuesday statement from the Ekiti State Government read.
