CRITICS INSPIRES, STRENGTHENS ME – NWABALI
Super Eagles and Chippa United FC goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has stated that receiving criticism spurs him on and makes him more resilient to give it his all.
Nwabali, who played a vital role in defeating South Africa and was named man of the match, made this statement on Wednesday in Bouake, Côte d’Ivoire, at a news conference following the game.
Nigeria defeated South Africa 4-2 after a pulsating 120 minutes of play to qualify for the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
“It happens in football; if football goes like this, your fans want more from you, and they say things like this.
“I just feel like it is a motivation for me to keep working hard,” Nwabali said.
Additionally, he noted that when Peseiro announced that he would be joining him in South Africa, where he is employed with Chippa United FC, it seemed “like a dream.”
The goalkeeper, who is based in South Africa, expressed gratitude to his teammates for their steadfast support.
He reaffirmed his determination to give Nigeria and the Super Eagles his all.
