The Commissioner noted that creativity empowers societies to adapt to changing circumstances, develop new technologies, and find innovative solutions to social, economic, and environmental challenges.

She said, “All over the world, nations that have not defined their direction have been known to experience stagnation due to resistance to change, especially when they don’t get a buy-in from the people”.

Dada said that the Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu administration, being development-oriented, saw the need to make creativity and innovation cardinal principles in its forward-looking T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Development Agenda.

The Commissioner further disclosed that 4,592 beneficiaries have graduated from the 19 vocational Centres of the State in the last year.

The Guest Speaker of the occasion, Mrs. Ayodele Maji, in her lecture tasked students of the state skills acquisition centres to collaborate, network and choose role models and mentors.

A beneficiary and graduate of one of the state skills acquisition centres at Mushin, Mrs. Caius Ijeoma Blessing appreciated the Lagos state governor and admonished beneficiaries to take advantage of the various empowerment programmes to become self-employed and reliant.

Present at the event were students of the various skills acquisition centres.

Highlights of the celebration were a fashion parade, and a display of products and skills, among others.
