FAAN SHUTS DOWN RUNWAY 18R/35L AT MMA FOR REHABILITATION

Runway 18R/36L of the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Ikeja has been closed for renovation by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.
On Monday, the closure began at three in the morning.
The FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs. Obiageli Orah, signed a statement containing this information.
Orah claims that the closure is because of ongoing asphalt phase rehabilitation work at the runway’s A2 Taxiwaylink.
According to her, this is a part of continuous efforts to keep the runway in top shape.
“There will be no disruption to flight operations during this period as all flights would be redirected to the alternative runway, 18L/36R,” she said.
She emphasized FAAN’s dedication to airport patrons’ comfort, safety, and security.
