The Osun State Police Command has arraigned three suspects in connection with the theft of two motorcycles in the Maboreje area of Ikirun, following months of investigation and intelligence-led operations.

According to a statement issued Friday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abiodun Ojelabi, the suspects — identified as Idowu Ajala, 40; Maruf Ajala, 56; and Ibrahim Idris, 28 — were arrested after multiple complaints were lodged by residents about missing motorcycles.

The first theft was reported on December 23, 2023, and the second on March 24, 2024. The stolen motorcycles included a blue TVS ‘lady’ model with registration number KNR 759 UM and another TVS bike with plate number FNN 898 QE.

“Acting on a tip-off, detectives from the CP’s Monitoring Unit apprehended the Ajala brothers on May 8, 2025, in possession of one of the missing motorcycles,” Ojelabi stated.

The suspects claimed they purchased the bike via Facebook from Ibrahim Idris, a motorcycle mechanic based in Ibadan, Oyo State. Further investigation confirmed the transaction was conducted through the Facebook account of Idowu Ajala, leading to Idris’s arrest.

With investigations now concluded, the three suspects have been formally charged in court for their alleged roles in the theft and unlawful possession of stolen property.

The police urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly, reiterating their commitment to tackling crime across the state.
