Recently displaced Big Brother Naija Season 10 contestant, Thelma Lawson, has illuminated the reasons behind the failure of her much-anticipated camaraderie with fellow participant Isabella within the house.
Thelma, who was eliminated on Saturday evening alongside Bright Morgan in an unexpected double eviction, revealed in her post-show interview that the confusion originated from her closeness with Kayinkunmi, a contestant she was acquainted with prior to the competition.
According to her, Isabella misconstrued her connection with Kayinkunmi as romantic, leading her to perceive Thelma as a rival.
“It’s unfortunate that Isabella and I never really became friends. I genuinely looked forward to connecting with her because she is a mother to a 14 year old son.
“I wanted to learn life from her perspective. But things changed because Kayinkunmi who is my friend outside the house was also in the game,” Thelma elaborated.
Thelma indicated that the tension escalated after she selected Kayinkunmi as her deputy during her tenure as Head of House.

She further noted that Isabella’s response immediately following her choice for deputy indicated the strain in their relationship.
“Her reaction that night showed me she had taken it too far. I felt it wasn’t the right moment for a conversation,” she stated.
Thelma clarified that she intentionally kept the intensity of her pre-existing friendship with Kayinkunmi confidential, asserting that it was unnecessary to disclose it to everyone.
“Kayinkunmi is my friend and that was why I chose him as deputy. I didn’t want anyone using us for highlights that’s why I only explained to those who directly asked me.
“Unfortunately by the time Isabella realized there was nothing between us, the damage had already been done,” she remarked.
The reality star concluded that while she had anticipated a genuine friendship with Isabella, the misunderstanding created a division that was never reconciled during their time in the house.
