OVER-SPEEDING VEHICLE FATALLY HITS POPULAR LAWYER PAUL ONOTA IN DELTA

A popular lawyer, Mr. Paul O. Onota, Esq., was tragically killed on Friday evening after being hit by a speeding vehicle near the Udu Local Government Council Secretariat at about 3:58 p.m.
Mr. Onota, a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Udu branch, was attempting to cross the road when the vehicle struck him, leaving his body severely mangled.
The incident has left members of the Udu NBA branch in deep mourning.
The Udu branch NBA Publicity Secretary, Okakuro Akpokona Omafuaire, Esq., said, “It’s shocking and saddening. This is not the kind of news we were expecting to hear. This is a man who was so gentle.”
According to him, “Having gone to court and returned just yesterday, this is something we cannot accept. The driver who killed him should be held responsible for his crime.”
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, is yet to respond to calls or a text message sent to him for confirmation of this report.
