The Ikeja Branch of the National Association of Judiciary Correspondents (NAJUC) has entered a new phase of leadership following the peaceful election and official swearing-in of its new executive officers.
The inauguration ceremony, held on Thursday at the NAJUC Press Centre within the Lagos State High Court premises in Ikeja, was well-attended by judiciary correspondents, members of the press, and invited dignitaries.
Mr. Azeez Folorunso of Rulers’ World Magazine and Online was elected as Chairman, while Mrs. Adenike Ayodele of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) emerged as General Secretary. Mr. Stephen Aya of ThisDay newspaper was elected Treasurer. All officers were returned unopposed, a development stakeholders hailed as a reflection of the association’s internal cohesion and shared vision.
Administering the oath of office, renowned legal practitioner Mr. Wahab Abdullahi charged the incoming executives to lead with integrity and ensure justice, fairness, and accountability remain at the heart of their administration.
“I urge you to be faithful to the ethics of your profession and serve as a reliable bridge between the judiciary and the general public,” Abdullahi advised.
In his inaugural remarks, Chairman Azeez Folorunso thanked members for their trust and pledged a leadership anchored on transparency, unity, and professional development.
“We are honoured by this responsibility, and we will not let you down. Our focus is to reposition NAJUC Ikeja to be more vibrant and responsive to the needs of our members,” he said.
General Secretary Adenike Ayodele reiterated the new executive’s commitment to efficient operations and collective progress. “We will uphold the NAJUC constitution and ensure the smooth coordination of the association’s affairs,” she assured.
The elections were held during NAJUC Ikeja’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), presided over by Mrs. Kemi Fola-Adeyemo of TVC, Chairperson of the Caretaker Committee. She commended the peaceful and democratic process, noting that the uncontested election reflected a high level of unity and mutual respect among members.

“This seamless transition marks a milestone for our association and sets a strong foundation for growth under the new leadership,” she said.
The new officers pledged to serve diligently and uphold the values of NAJUC Ikeja as they embark on their two-year tenure.
