The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has been honoured with the “Excellence in Humanity Service Award” by the African Peace Legend organization in recognition of his outstanding contributions to peace and development in Nigeria.
The award ceremony was held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the EFCC’s corporate headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.
Presenting the award, Director of African Peace Legend, Jesse Seyi Amiri, said the recognition followed a rigorous nomination process across African countries. He noted that Olukoyede was selected among the top 100 individuals for his exceptional leadership and achievements in promoting peace and national development.
“Nine months ago, we launched an open nomination process across Africa. Your Executive Chairman emerged as one of the final 100 due to his remarkable performance in Nigeria and the continent,” Amiri stated. “This award is both a recognition and an encouragement for him to continue the good work. No EFCC chairman has done what he is doing,” he added.
Receiving the award on behalf of the EFCC Chairman, Assistant Commander of the EFCC (ACE II), Aisha Mohammed, expressed gratitude on behalf of the agency.
“On behalf of the Executive Chairman, we truly appreciate this honour. It affirms that the EFCC is on the right path, and we will continue to give our best to make Nigerians proud,” she said.
The award adds to a growing list of commendations for Olukoyede’s leadership since his appointment, reflecting his renewed drive to reposition the EFCC as a credible and efficient anti-graft agency.
