LASU ENDS STRIKE FOLLOWING MEETING WITH LAGOS GOVERNMENT

A communiqué endorsed by the Deputy Registrar/Coordinator of the Centre for Information and Public Relations of the institution, Thomas-Onashile Oluwayemisi, indicated that the Joint Academic Committee (JAC) has also sanctioned the recommencement of academic and extracurricular activities at the University, effective Wednesday, 13th August 2025.

Following thorough deliberation of the updates received from the University’s Vice-Chancellor regarding the aforementioned meeting, the Senate concluded that: all academic and social activities should recommence throughout the University on Wednesday, 13th August 2025; students are to relocate to their residences on all University campuses in Ojo, Ikeja, and Epe starting Wednesday, 13th August 2025; and that the 2024/2025 Second Semester Examinations, which were previously postponed, are scheduled to initiate on Monday, 18th August 2025.

“Students are encouraged to return expeditiously and prepare thoroughly for the examinations,” the statement added.

Please be reminded that the institution’s Senate, during its virtual assembly convened on Saturday, 2nd August 2025, halted all academic and social engagements subsequent to the announcement of industrial action by the Joint Action Committee of Staff Unions on Thursday, 31st august 2025.
