FRSC REPORTS 12 DEAD, 5 INJURED IN KANO LONE ACCIDENT

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has verified the fatalities of 12 individuals and five others wounded in a singular incident that took place in Kano.

The FRSC Sector Commander for the state, Muhammed Bature, stated that the incident happened at approximately 2:40 a.m. on Friday at Samawa Village within the Garun Malam Local Government Area, along the Zaria–Kano expressway.

Bature, in a statement in Kano, said the accident involved a DAF CF95 trailer, with registration number KMC 931 ZE, loaded with goods.

He stated that the event included 19 individuals, of whom 12 were deceased, five sustained different levels of injuries, and two remained unharmed.

The sector commander clarified that the collision transpired when the trailer lost its control and collided, as its cab separated from its chassis due to a mechanical malfunction in the trailer’s cab hook.

“The bodies of the deceased were removed and transported to Nassarawa Hospital, while the injured individuals were taken to Kura General Hospital for medical care,” he remarked.

The sector commander advised drivers to refrain from excessive speed, reckless driving, and other detrimental behaviors that could jeopardize lives and property.
