CVR WEEK 8: OVER 7 MILLION NIGERIANS SIGN UP FOR VOTERS CARD

Over 7.4 million Nigerians completed their online pre-registration for voter cards between October 6–12, 2025, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Women and young people dominated the exercise — females made up 52.3%, while youths aged 18–34 accounted for nearly 69% of total registrants.
Students led by occupation with 1.87 million registrations, followed by business owners and farmers.
INEC also recorded 168,680 persons with disabilities (PWDs), reflecting efforts to make the process more inclusive.
By state, Osun (632,751), Lagos (590,341), and Borno (783,546) topped the charts, while Abia, Edo, and Ebonyi posted the lowest numbers.
INEC urged Nigerians to complete their biometrics at designated centres, noting that “making your vote count starts with registration.”
