SDP’S ADEBAYO SLAMS PDP, SAYS PARTY WAS LAWLESS IN POWER

HOTJIST NEWS
The Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) 2023 presidential candidate, Adewale Adebayo, has criticised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over Tuesday’s confrontation between its rival factions.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday, which was monitored by THE MEDIA , Adebayo said the PDP exhibited “lawless” behaviour while it was in power.
It was reported that tensions flared at the PDP national secretariat when opposing groups one aligned with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, and the other loyal to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike engaged in a struggle for control of the party headquarters amid a deepening leadership crisis.
Reacting to the development, Adebayo said, “No one should be surprised by the chaos that unfolded at the PDP headquarters yesterday.
“When the party was in power, it operated with a high level of lawlessness, engaging in rigging and manipulation. Now that it is out of government, its members have turned on one another.
“What worries me most is the role of the police. The police belong to all Nigerians, while the PDP belongs only to its members. I am concerned that the police may be getting dragged into taking sides.”
