EMMY-WINNING ACTRESS CATHERINE O’HARA, STAR OF ‘SCHITT’S CREEK’, ‘HOME ALONE’ DIES AT 71

Emmy Award-winning actress and comedian Catherine O’Hara, renowned for her roles in “Home Alone,” “Schitt’s Creek,” and “Beetlejuice,” has died at the age of 71.
Her death was confirmed by a representative from the office of her manager, Marc Gurvitz, who did not disclose the cause of death or provide details on when or where she passed away.
O’Hara rose to prominence as a member of the Second City, the improvisational comedy troupe that later produced the influential Canadian sketch comedy series “S.C.T.V.”

Through the show, she gained wider recognition and worked alongside notable comedians such as John Candy, Rick Moranis, and Eugene Levy, who would later play her husband in “Schitt’s Creek.”
She most recently appeared in “The Studio” on Apple TV.
In recognition of her contributions to the arts, O’Hara was awarded the Order of Canada, one of the country’s highest honors, in 2017.
