UNILORIN VC MOURNS DEATH OF RENOWNED ISLAMIC SCHOLAR, PROF. BADMUS YUSUF

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, has expressed shock and sadness over the death of renowned Islamic scholar, Prof. Badmus Yusuf.

A statement issued on Friday by the university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, quoted Egbewole as saying that “the management, staff and students of the institution were saddened by the demise of Yusuf.”

Yusuf was the Director of the Linguistic Immersion Centre of the University of Ilorin and joined the services of the university in 1992.

He died on Friday during a brief illness at the age of 69.

The vice-chancellor described the “deceased as a hardworking and exemplary academic and administrator who made his mark in the services of the university, Islam and humanity.”

Egbewole sympathised with the relations, friends, colleagues, students, and mentees of the deceased, urging them to take “solace in the fact that he lived a good life worthy of emulation.”

The vice-chancellor prayed to Allah to overlook the shortcomings of the deceased and reward his good deeds with Al-janatul firdaos.
