FATHIA BALOGUN SLAMS BLOGGER OVER RUMOURED RIFT WITH FUNKE AKINDELE

Actress and filmmaker Fathia Balogun has criticised a blogger for spreading what she described as false and misleading claims about an alleged rift between her and fellow Nollywood star, Funke Akindele.
The controversy followed Fathia’s birthday celebration on February 5, when Akindele sent her a goodwill message. Fathia replied with a brief response in Yoruba, “Ose Iya Ibeji,” which translates to “Thank you, mother of twins.”
However, a blogger later interpreted the exchange as awkward and suggested it pointed to unresolved tension between the two actresses, fuelling speculation of a strained relationship.
Reacting to the claims, Fathia dismissed the narrative, insisting there was no bad blood between her and Akindele. She accused bloggers of deliberately creating unnecessary drama and fabricating stories for attention.
Speaking during a live video session, the actress warned bloggers to stop interfering in her personal and professional relationships, stressing that Akindele’s message was heartfelt and that her response had been wrongly interpreted.
Fathia also urged content creators to exercise responsibility and avoid spreading false narratives capable of damaging reputations.
The two actresses have previously been linked to reports of disagreement after Funke Akindele allegedly unfollowed and blocked Fathia on social media over claims of unreciprocated event appearances. However, Fathia’s latest comments suggest there is no lingering feud between them.
