ZAMFARA VARSITY APPOINTS NEW VICE-CHANCELLOR

Prof. Tukur Adamu has assumed office as the fourth substantive Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Gusau, Zamfara State, succeeding Prof. Mu’azu Abubakar.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Adamu’s appointment as the university’s fourth substantive VC was recently confirmed.
Speaking on Tuesday during the handing-over and taking-over ceremony in Gusau, the incoming vice-chancellor pledged to build on his predecessor’s achievements.
“I will prioritise infrastructure, human capital, academic development, staff and students’ welfare, and ensure a conducive environment for teaching and learning,” he said.
“I look forward to collaborating with all segments of the university.
“We will maintain strong partnerships with all stakeholders, particularly the Zamfara Government, traditional institutions, and our host community,” he said.
Adamu also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, the Federal Ministry of Education, and the university’s Governing Council for his appointment.

Also speaking, the outgoing VC, Prof. Mu’azu Abubakar, expressed gratitude to the university community, Sabongida town, its host community, and all stakeholders for their contributions to the achievements recorded during his tenure.
“I stand here today to hand over the affairs of this great institution to my successor.
“All the achievements recorded under my administration would not have been possible without the support of our stakeholders.
“Alhamdulillah, I am leaving the university in an excellent position,” he said, urging his successor to build on the university’s progress.
Abubakar also commended the university’s Governing Council for the opportunity to serve and called on the university community to offer full support to the new VC.
In separate remarks, Heads of Departments, Deans of Faculties, and representatives of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) praised the outgoing VC for his significant contributions and achievements at the institution.
They pledged their full support and cooperation to the incoming VC to ensure the continued development of the university.
