The management of Oyo State College of Nursing, Eleyele, Ibadan, has dismissed reports of a kidnapping incident on its Kishi campus as false and misleading.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Provost of the college, Dr. Gbonjubola Owolabi, assured students, parents, and the public that no such incident occurred and emphasized that the safety and security of students and staff remain a top priority.

“The management clarified that after a thorough internal review and verification with security personnel, it was confirmed that there was no case of kidnapping on the campus,” the statement read, describing the circulating report as misinformation capable of causing unnecessary panic.

The college further stated that security agencies had been engaged to investigate the source of the rumour, while surveillance and monitoring across the campus have been strengthened to prevent future false alarms.

Parents and guardians were urged to verify information through official communication channels of the college before responding to unverified reports. The management reiterated its commitment to maintaining a secure and conducive academic environment for all students and staff.
