CRYSTAL PALACE, FIORENTINA REACH UEFA CONFERENCE LEAGUE LAST 16
Agency Report

Crystal Palace F.C. booked their place in the UEFA Conference League last 16 with a 2-0 win over HŠK Zrinjski Mostar, while ACF Fiorentina survived a major scare against Jagiellonia Białystok on Thursday.
Palace, who were held to a 1-1 draw in Bosnia last week, sealed a 3-1 aggregate victory at Selhurst Park. Goals from Maxence Lacroix and Evann Guessand ensured Oliver Glasner’s side avoided an embarrassing exit in their first European knockout tie in a major competition.
Under pressure after a poor Premier League run and a shock FA Cup defeat to Macclesfield, Glasner saw his side take control in the 36th minute when Adam Wharton delivered a free-kick that Lacroix headed home. Guessand sealed the win in stoppage time from Brennan Johnson’s pass.
Palace will face either or AEK Larnaca FC in the last 16.
Fiorentina, meanwhile, were pushed to the brink despite carrying a 3-0 first-leg lead. A hat-trick from Bartosz Mazurek forced extra time at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. The Italian side regained control thanks to Nicolò Fagioli’s strike and an own goal from Taras Romanchuk.
A late goal from Jesús Imaz made Fiorentina sweat before Bernardo Vital was sent off, as Jagiellonia won 4-2 on the night but fell 5-4 on aggregate.
Elsewhere, AZ Alkmaar overturned a first-leg deficit to beat FC Noah 4-0 and will meet AC Sparta Prague or AEK Athens F.C..
Lech Poznań advanced 3-0 on aggregate against KuPS and await FC Shakhtar Donetsk or Rayo Vallecano.
SK Sigma Olomouc eliminated FC Lausanne-Sport, while NK Celje defeated FC Drita to progress.
HNK Rijeka beat AC Omonia to set up a clash with RC Strasbourg Alsace or Raków Częstochowa, while Samsunspor thrashed KF Shkëndija and will meet Shakhtar or Rayo Vallecano in the next round.
