FUBARA CONFIRMS NEW CHIEF OF STAFF AND SSG APPOINTMENTS

Rivers State Governor Siminialayi Fubara has named a new Chief of Staff and Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
The announcement was made in a statement on Thursday in Port Harcourt by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi.
According to the statement, Dr. Dagogo S.A. Wokoma has been appointed as Secretary to the State Government, while Barrister Sunny Ewule will serve as Chief of Staff (CoS), with both appointments effective immediately.
The governor had previously dismissed his aides, including former CoS Edison Ehie and former SSG Dr Benibo Anabraba, following a political crisis in the state and the Abuja “peace deal.”
Fubara noted that the newly appointed officials would be sworn in at 2:00 pm to commence their official duties.

The statement read:
“Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminialayi Fubara has appointed Dr. Dagogo S.A. Wokoma as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Barrister Sunny Ewule as Chief of Staff (CoS). Both appointments take immediate effect.
“The new appointees will be sworn in at 2:00 pm today, Thursday, February 26, 2026, at the Exco Chamber, Government House, Port Harcourt.”
