Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has indicated a potential return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following a high-level meeting with Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State.
The former Kano State Governor held a closed-door session with the PDP governor, a move widely interpreted as part of broader political realignments ahead of upcoming elections.
After the meeting, Senator Kwankwaso addressed journalists, emphasizing his commitment to strengthening the opposition and fostering a united political front to advance national development.
Speaking to the press, Kwankwaso described the PDP as his political home, recalling that he was first elected Governor of Kano State under the party in 1999, later served as Minister of Defence under the PDP, and returned to Kano politics in 2007, 2011, and 2015, maintaining loyalty to the party throughout.
“The time has come to join hands and return to the Peoples Democratic Party,” he said. “Fix the PDP, fix Nigeria — this is our collective responsibility.”
