The father of Israel Afeare, better known as Israel DMW, the logistics manager for Afrobeats star Davido, has passed away at the age of 71.
Afeare, an Edo State native, confirmed the news in a phone interview on Saturday. He revealed that his father, Mr. Afeare Eric, a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police, died on March 2 at a hospital in Ibadan following a brief illness.

Speaking on the loss, Israel described his father as a pillar of strength who played a key role in keeping the family united. “Losing my father at this time is very sad. We still needed him with us, but God knows best,” he said.
“He was my anchor and crucial in maintaining the unity of our family,” he added.
The late Mr. Afeare is survived by two wives and eight children.
