POLICE NAB ALLEGED PERPETRATOR OF EBONYI MONARCH’S ABDUCTION AND KILLING

The Ebonyi State Police Command has provided further updates on the investigation into the kidnapping and murder of His Royal Highness, Francis Igwe.
According to the command, on March 7, one of the suspects led officers from the Anti-Kidnapping Squad to his hideout. During the search, authorities recovered one SMG rifle, one pump-action rifle, three locally made Beretta pistols, eleven rounds of 9mm live ammunition, a shovel, and assorted charms.

This information was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Joshua Ukandu, and shared with journalists in Abakaliki.
The statement also revealed that on March 8, 2026, operatives arrested one of the suspects along with the alleged mastermind of the monarch’s kidnapping and murder, identified as Nwazunku Stephen, at his hideout in Ikwo, following sustained surveillance and intelligence-led operations.
The suspect has since provided valuable information and is assisting the police with the ongoing investigation.
The Ebonyi State Police Command assured the public that the investigation is ongoing and that all individuals involved in the crime will be apprehended and brought to justice.
