IRAN-LINKED DRONE STRIKE NEAR DUBAI AIRPORT LEAVES TWO GHANAIANS INJURED

Ghana Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that two Ghanaian nationals were injured after a drone strike occurred near Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In a statement, Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, said the incident happened on Wednesday.
Earlier, the UAE Ministry of Defence reported that the country’s air defence systems were intercepting missiles and drones launched from Iran.

According to the ministry, the UAE has detected 262 ballistic missiles fired from Iran since the conflict began on February 28. Of these, 241 were intercepted, 19 fell into the sea, while two landed within the country’s territory.
Authorities also disclosed that one Nigerian was among the 122 people injured during the interception of the Iranian missiles in the UAE.
Ablakwa said the Ghanaian ambassador to the UAE led officials from the embassy in Abu Dhabi and the consulate in Dubai to visit the injured citizens, while the ministry continues to coordinate emergency consular assistance.
“The Government of Ghana condemns the attack and reiterates its call for an immediate cessation of hostilities,” the minister stated.
He added that Ghana is also working with international partners to support a **United Nations resolution aimed at easing tensions and restoring peace.
