Ghana announced on Tuesday that they have parted ways with head coach Otto Addo, just hours after a friendly loss to Germany and a little over 70 days before the World Cup.

The Black Stars suffered a 2–1 defeat in Stuttgart on Monday, with the hosts needing a late goal from Deniz Undav to secure the win.

It marked a fourth consecutive loss for Addo’s team, who were heavily beaten 5–1 by Austria the previous week.

“The association sincerely thanks Otto Addo for his contributions to the team and wishes him the very best in his future endeavours,” the Ghana Football Association said.

The association said it will “announce the Black Stars’ new technical direction in due course.”

Addo, 50, had been in charge of the team since March 2024.

Ghana are drawn in a World Cup group alongside England, Croatia, and Panama in North America this summer.
