PRESIDENT TINUBU TO VISIT OGUN STATE FOR LANDMARK PROJECT COMMISSIONING

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to undertake an official visit to Ogun State on Saturday, as the Gateway State prepares for the commissioning and inspection of a wide range of landmark projects—highlighting its commitment to infrastructural development, economic growth, and enhanced public service delivery.
A statement from the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, noted that the President’s itinerary will showcase strategic investments across key sectors.
Central to the visit is the commissioning of the Gateway International Airport in Iperu, a major project aimed at establishing Ogun State as a leading aviation and logistics hub in Nigeria.
Within the airport, President Tinubu will also inaugurate two new aircraft under Gateway Air, marking the official launch of the state’s aviation initiative in partnership with ValueJet.
Highlighting the airport’s economic potential, the President will observe a cargo operations demonstration by SAHCOL, signaling readiness for full-scale logistics and freight activities.

Additional assets to be commissioned include 1,000 electric bikes under the state’s EV mobility program, 80 security vehicles to enhance safety, and a fleet of agricultural tractors to support farmers and boost food production.
Outside the airport, the President will commission the Ilishan–Iperu Airport Road, a critical link connecting the aviation hub to surrounding communities, and inspect the Nigeria Customs Service Village along with the Forward Operating Base (FOB) building, strengthening border security and trade facilitation.
The visit will also include the commissioning and inspection of the Gateway Aviation Village, a development supporting the state’s growing aviation sector.
In a symbolic gesture, President Tinubu will commission the reconstructed Sapade–Ilishan Road—renamed the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Expressway—an arterial route expected to enhance regional connectivity and commerce.
Finally, he will inspect the Sagamu–Benin Concrete Road, a major federal infrastructure project aimed at improving transport efficiency along one of Nigeria’s busiest corridors.
Together, these projects underscore the vision of the Ogun State Government under Dapo Abiodun to build a modern, economically vibrant, and well-connected state, while also reinforcing collaboration between federal and state authorities in driving sustainable development.
