NIGERIA’S MOFFI WINS CONFERENCE BEST GOAL AWARD
The incredible acrobatic goal by Terem Moffi has been awarded the UEFA Europa Conference League Goal for the 2022–23 campaign by the governing body of European football, UEFA.
The Nigerian-born striker was awarded for his acrobatic goal during OGC Nice’s thrilling 2-2 draw against Basel in April.
According to a statement on the UEFA website, “the top ten goals of the 2022–23 UEFA Europa Conference League season have been selected by UEFA’s Technical Observer panel, with Terem Moffi’s acrobatic effort for Nice at Basel earning the honour of Goal of the Season.”
Lazio Super Star Ciro Immobile claimed the runners-up spot while Andy Diouf, the Young Player of the Season, came third – one of two top-ten entries for the Basel youngster.
Samuel Chukwueze came fourth with his impressive volleyed strike in Villarreal’s 4-3 win against Bulgarian club, Lech Poznan.
