
HAPPENING NOW: SENATE COMMENCES SCREENING OF MINISTERIAL NOMINEES

The Senate has begun the process of reviewing ministerial nominees.
On Monday, the screening began about 1: 30 p.m. in the plenary after the arrival of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio
Abubakar Momoh (Edo State) was the first nominee to be screened.
Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, is followed suit.
Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, announced the 28 ministry nominations last Thursday.
The Senate has cleared the immediate past governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, for a ministerial role.
The former Rivers governor and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party was part of the first set of ministerial nominees Tinubu forwarded to the Senate.
Senator Abubakar Kyari appeared before lawmakers awaiting to be screened. His colleagues however, askes him to take a bow.
Earlier, Prof. Joseph Utsev from Benue, has made his presentation to the lawmakers and he’s answering questions on his educational qualifications.
Senator John Enoh from Cross-River State, appeared before lawmakers to be screened. He reeled out his credentials and service while in and out of the National Assembly.

Hotjist, earlier reported that the Senate will commence the screening of the ministerial nominees submitted to it by President Bola Tinubu.
