SHUN CULTISM, DRUG ABUSE, COMMISSIONER TELLS LAGOS STUDENTS
Lagos State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun has urged pupils in both Junior and Senior schools to shun cultism and drug abuse.
The Commissioner made this known in one of his visits to schools on the Island and Mainland of the state as part of the Ministry’s quest to ensure all stakeholders, School Administrators, Teachers, Students and Partners, remain focused.
During his visitm to Wahab Folawiyo Junior and Senior High School, Ikoyi, the Commmissioner encouraged the students to stay focused and shun all negative vices like cultism, drug abuse and bullying.
He reminded the students that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu cares for them and will continue to intervene to ensure they get the best of learning experience while in school.
While addressing students of Lagos State Comprehensive school arm at Eric Moore Senior High School Surulere, Lagos City College, Sabo Yaba and Wahab Folawiyo Senior High School, Osborne, Ikoyi, Alli-Balogun adviced the students to pay attention to skill acquisition in addition to their academic education.
The teachers were equally directed to focus more on practical to assist the students to achieve the desired comprehensive skill learning.
The Commisioner reiterated the stand of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to give priority to technical education and bridge tecnical skills gap in the State
