LASTMA, LASAMBUS RESCUE MULTIPLE ACCIDENT VICTIM IN LAGOS
Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and Officials of the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LSAMBUS) today jointly rescued a male accident victim on Anthony-Oke Bridge inward Gbagada area of Lagos.
The Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA Mr. Adebayo Taofiq confirmed that the rescued accident victim sustained serious internal injuries during a multiple accident which involved 3 vehicles including a mini bus.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of a ‘Suzuki’ mini bus (EKY 299 YC) while on a top speed struggling right of way (R.O.W) with other vehicles developed brake failure and rammed into two (2) other vehicles (Toyota Corolla GGE 824 JA) & (Toyota Venza KSF 954 HG) on top of Anthony Bridge.
While Lastma Officials cleared all accidental vehicles off the road and handed over to Police men from Ilupeju Police Division for further investigation, the accident victim was rushed to General Hospital at Ikeja by Officials of the Lagos State Ambulance service (LASAMBUS).
The General Manager of LASTMA Mr. Bakare-Oki Olalekan however appealed to motoring public to desist from competiting right of way with other vehicles and ensure that the braking system of their vehicle is in good condition before embarking on any journey within or outside the State.
