MAN LANDS IN COURT FOR STEALING PHONES, MOTORCYCLE

The Lagos State Police Command on Monday, arraigned a Plumber, Micheal Adewale, before an Ikeja High Court sitting for allegedly robbing two people of their phones and another of his motorcycle.

The 28-year-old man was arraigned on a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy to commit robbery and armed robbery before Justice Adenike Coker.

He however, pleaded not guilty to the offences filed against him.

The Lagos State Prosecutor, Ms Titi Adeyegbe, told the court that the defendant, along with others now at large, committed the alleged crimes on February 23rd, 2023 at the Abattoir, Agege area of the state.

She added that the defendant, in possession of a shotgun, robbed one Olatunji Mary of her handbag, containing her Tecno Spark phone and cash of N10,000.

Adeyegbe also told the court that the Adewale, in possession of the shotgun, also robbed Mr Dada Adetokunbo of his Tecno Spark phone, worth N42,000.

She added that the defendant also, robbed one Aminu Abdullah of his motorcycle at Ojokoro, Ijaiye, Lagos.

The prosecutor informed the court that the offences contravened Sections 299 and 297 (2)(a) of the Criminal Law Cap Ch. 17, Vol 3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

Justice Adenike Coker, thereafter, adjourned the matter until Feb. 19, for trial.
