AFCON: PESEIRO PROVIDES MORE INJURY UPDATE ON NWABALI
Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has revealed that Stanley Nwabali will undergo another test on Thursday (today) to ascertain his fitness level ahead of his team’s quarter-final clash with Angola.
Nwabali sustained a mild ligament injury in Nigeria’s Round of 16 victory against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon last Saturday.
The Chippa United shot stopper has however participated in the team’s last two training sessions dousing tension he could miss the clash with the Palancas Negras.
Peseiro has however said that he will take a final decision on Nwabali’s availability after the test.
“We will do the final test on Thursday (today). After that we will decide whether he can start or not,” Peseiro told reporters.
“But we are confident in the other goalkeepers in the team. We have Francis Uzoho and Olorunleke Ojo. They are capable of replacing Stanley.”
