BREAKING: COURT GRANTS SUSPENDED UNICAL DEAN, LAWYER BAIL
Prof. Cyril Ndifon, the dean of the University of Calabar’s suspended Faculty of Law, has been granted bail by an Abuja Federal High Court.
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) arraigned Sunny Anyanwu, his attorney, beside him, and the court granted bail to him as well.
Four modified counts of alleged sexual harassment and an effort to pervert the course of justice are currently before the professor and his attorney.
While Ndifon was granted bail in the sum of N250 million with two sureties, Anyanwu was granted N50 million with two sureties as well.
Ruling on their bail application on Friday, the trial judge, Justice James Omotoso, said, āBail is granted to the first defendants in the sum of N250m with two sureties who own properties within FCT with a minimum valuation of N150m.
āThe first defendant and his two sureties must submit their bank statements.
āThe first defendants must submit his International passport to the court.
āThe second defendant is granted bail in the sum of N50m with two sureties who will submit their bank statements.
āThe defendants must file an undertaking not to interfere with the case, readiness to attend trial and not to cause delay.ā
Justice Omotosho adjourned the matter till Monday for continuation of hearing.
