The Ministry of Establishments and Training, as part of its accelerated capacity programme, today held three training programmes for Officers in the State Public Service.
The three training programmes, which are generic and specific, took place simultaneously at three centres in Ikeja.
The generic training programme covered Officers from Grade 13 to 17 and cut across cadres whilst the specific training programmes covered Officers in the Health and Planning Sectors on one hand and Town Planning Officers on the other.
The themes of the training programmes are ‘Managing and Leading Innovation in the Workplace’; ‘Population, Prevention and Control’; and ‘Global Best Practices in Town Planning’.
The three training programmes were declared open by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Establishments and Training, Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun, who was represented at the events by the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Mr. Adedolapo Ajayi. She advised participants to approach the training with an open mind and a thirst for knowledge.
She stated that the programmes would serve as platforms for collaboration and sharing innovative solutions to the challenges participants face in their respective roles.
Mrs. Abidakun reminded them that the ultimate goal of the programme is for participants not just to acquire knowledge and information but to translate that knowledge into positive results at their respective duty posts.
Earlier, the Deputy Director in the Department of Training, Mr. Adeboye Oyenuga, who represented the Director of Training whilst welcoming the participants to the training sessions, expressed appreciation to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for approval of the training programmes.
He commended the participants for turning out in their numbers for the programme, advising them to take advantage of the programme and allow what is learnt to reflect in their respective MDAs.
The generic training programme with the theme, ‘Managing & Leading Innovation for the Workplace’ had 150 participants in attendance while the specific training programmes with the theme, ‘Population, Prevention and Control’; and ‘Global Best Practices in Town Planning’ had 100 participants each in attendance.
