FOUR CONFIRMED DEAD IN BAYELSA ROAD ACCIDENT

Read Time:1 Minute, 4 Second

A speeding Toyota Sienna veered out of its lane and struck head-on with a tricycle at Famgbe 2 on the Yenagoa-Oporoma road in Bayelsa State, resulting in the confirmation of four deaths.

According to eyewitness testimony, the incident happened on Monday night after 7:00 p.m. while the tricycle was returning to Yenagoa and the Toyota Sienna was travelling in the direction of Oporoma.

None of the people in the Sienna were hurt, but the tricycle’s driver and other riders were the victims.

He claimed that the collision occurred on a bend in the road, a location of multiple incidents in the past, and that heavy weather and poor visibility may have also played a role.

It was getting darker and raining, he said, so it took some time for locals to attend to the issue.

GUNMEN KILL 2 POLICEMEN, ONE CIVILIAN IN IMO

Although it is illegal for tricyclists in Bayelsa State to operate their vehicles after 7:00 p.m., some do so frequently, especially when they are not in the state capital, Yenagoa.

Musa Mohammed, the police public relations officer for the Bayelsa Police Command, stated he was unaware of the incident until our correspondent called him about the latest developments.
