JUST IN: APPEAL COURT AFFIRMS ODODO’S ELECTION AS KOGI GOV
Usman Ododo’s election as Kogi State’s governor has been upheld by the Court of Appeal, which is headquartered in Abuja.
After rejecting the appeal filed by Social Democratic Party candidate Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, a three-member panel of the appellate court upheld the Kogi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal’s decision to recognize Ododo as the legitimately elected governor of Kogi State in the November 11, 2023, governorship election.
While dismissing all four grounds of appeal against the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Murtala Ajaka, its candidate for governor, the Appellate Court found that the petitioners had not established each and every one of their claims beyond a reasonable doubt.
