This occurs about two months after over thirty people were killed in Gwoza town by numerous bombings.
The incident was confirmed over the phone by Yakubu Ali, the head of the Kerawa Community Association, and Bukar Aji, the counselor for the Jimini ward.
In the Mandara Mountains, which are considered to be the terrorists’ hiding place, Kerawa Town shares a border with Cameroon.
In a phone conversation with Channels Television, the Gwoza division’s Divisional Police Officer stated he was not aware of the development.
The Divisional Police Officer of Gwoza division while speaking with Channels Television on phone said he is unaware of the development.
He, however, promised to verify the report.
The DPO said the attack could be from Kerawa, Cameroon, and not the Nigerian Kerawa. He added that there was a similar killing some weeks back in Kerawa Cameroon but the populace confused it for the Nigerian Kerawa.
Gwoza was once declared the caliphate of the terrorists when it was captured in 2014 before it was recaptured by troops of the Nigerian military.
