Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has announced plans to celebrate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In a statement released earlier today, Abbas revealed that he will visit the IDP camp in Abuja to spend quality time with those affected by displacement. During his visit, he aims to provide assistance and support to the vulnerable population, highlighting the importance of community solidarity during national celebrations.

In addition to his engagement with the IDPs, Abbas will also hold an interactive session with students from various public secondary schools across the six Area Councils of the FCT at the National Assembly. This initiative aims to foster dialogue and inspire the youth about their role in nation-building.

The Speaker emphasized that this year’s Independence Anniversary should be a moment of reflection and action, particularly for those who are marginalized. His outreach efforts underscore a commitment to uplifting all Nigerians, regardless of their circumstances.
