UPDATE: NATIONAL GRID RESTORED AFTER LATEST COLLAPSE
The Nigerian national grid has been restored shortly after today’s collapse at 1:52 PM, marking the tenth failure in 2024.
The grid experienced a partial disturbance, briefly interrupting power supply across the country.
This disruption followed a series of trippings involving power lines and generators, which caused instability within the system.
According to the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), the National Control Centre (NCC) confirmed that not all parts of the grid were affected by the power outage.
Efforts to bring the system back online were swift, and bulk power supply was restored to Abuja at 2:49 PM.
Restoration is ongoing, with full power expected to be gradually restored to other parts of the country, including Lagos, in the coming hours.
