Agency report

Boeing shares plunged by 5.0 percent during early trading on Thursday following the crash of a London-bound Boeing 787 operated by Air India in western India, with all 242 people on board feared dead.

In response, Boeing stated it was in contact with Air India and prepared to provide full support.

The incident adds to the challenges facing the aerospace company, which has been working to recover from previous setbacks—including a labour strike in the U.S. last year and the deadly crashes of its 737 MAX aircraft in 2018 and 2019.
