FC Barcelona have confirmed that the club will make its long-anticipated return to the Camp Nou when they host Athletic Bilbao on 22 November, in the 13th round of the La Liga season.

The fixture will mark Barça’s first match at their iconic home ground in two and a half years, following an extensive redevelopment of the stadium.

The Camp Nou refurbishment, which began in 2022, was part of a broad project aimed at transforming the historic venue into a modern, world-class football arena.

The upgrades included increasing seating capacity, installing a new pitch, improving structural and safety systems, and redesigning facilities to elevate the overall matchday experience for fans.

Barcelona’s last official match at Camp Nou before the closure was played on 29 May 2023, when the team defeated Mallorca 3–0.

That victory became the final chapter in the stadium’s old era before construction works commenced.

With the refurbishment now at a stage that allows matches to resume, excitement is building among supporters eager to witness the rebirth of the stadium and see Barcelona compete once again on the pitch they call home.
