Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has remembered her late mother, marking three years since her passing, in a heartfelt Instagram post.
Akindele described her mother as a “selfless queen” who instilled strong values, discipline, and the importance of education in her children, shaping them into confident individuals. She credited her mother’s guidance and teachings as the foundation of her personal and professional success.
“My darling Mother, today marks 3 years since you left us. Mummy, you were a selfless queen who gave us the best education, taught us to believe in ourselves, and raised strong children. Your legacy lives on in me, my siblings and your grandchildren,” Funke wrote.
She added that her mother’s legacy continues through her family and expressed gratitude for the lessons that shaped her life. “Your teachings, knowledge, and discipline shaped me into who I am today. I celebrate you, mummy. May your kind soul continue to rest in peace. We love you, miss you, and will keep making you proud,” she said.
