Piotr Zielinski scored a dramatic 90th-minute winner as Inter Milan edged Juventus 3-2 on Saturday to move eight points clear at the top of Serie A.

Inter, champions in 2024, twice took the lead through an own goal by Andrea Cambiaso and a header from Pio Esposito. Cambiaso later redeemed himself by scoring Juventus’ first equaliser, while captain Manuel Locatelli also struck to bring the visitors level late in the contest.

However, Inter had the final say when Zielinski fired home from the edge of the box to secure all three points and strengthen their grip on the title race. Coach Christian Chivu made just one change from the side that thrashed Sassuolo 5-0, bringing in Nicolo Barella for Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Juventus were reduced to 10 men before halftime after Pierre Kalulu was sent off for two yellow cards, compounding their struggles as they remain 15 points behind Inter in the standings.

Elsewhere, AC Milan moved second after Luka Modric scored a late winner in a 2-1 victory at Pisa.

In Rome, Atalanta boosted their European hopes with a 2-0 win over Lazio. Goals from Ederson and Nicola Zalewski secured the victory, while Lazio, coached by Maurizio Sarri, fell further behind in the race for continental qualification.

Attention now turns to Sunday’s headline clash, with third-placed Napoli hosting Roma in a key encounter with just three points separating the sides.
