Adorable Women International (AWI), a non-governmental organization committed to uplifting and empowering vulnerable women and children, on Saturday celebrated the 2026 International Women’s Day with a food distribution outreach to 100 vulnerable women living on the streets in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The outreach formed part of activities marking this year’s International Women’s Day, observed globally on March 8, under the theme, “Give to Gain.”
According to the organization, the theme aligns with its mission of compassion, service, and community impact, emphasizing that giving is not merely an act of charity but a seed capable of restoring hope, dignity, and transformation within society.
Speaking during the outreach, the President of Adorable Women International, Hajia Zainab Monilola Hakim-Yusuf, highlighted the importance of supporting women facing hardship.
“International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate the strength and resilience of women, especially those facing hardship. Through this outreach, we are demonstrating that when we give love and support, we gain stronger communities and restore hope. Every woman deserves dignity,” she said.
As part of the initiative, members of the organization distributed essential food items to 100 vulnerable women, reaffirming AWI’s commitment to practical empowerment and compassionate service within underserved communities.
The organization noted that its programs are aimed at promoting inclusion, dignity, and sustainable support for women and children who are often overlooked in society.
Adorable Women International also called on individuals, partners, and well-meaning members of the public to support vulnerable women not only during International Women’s Day celebrations but throughout the year.
AWI stated that through outreach programmes, empowerment initiatives, and humanitarian service, it seeks to restore hope and dignity to women and children in need.
